"Just to let you know the engineers at Sheltam completed the conversion last Friday and we flew the a/c today.  What a difference -     more RPM on Take-off, in the cruise at the same power settings as we used previously (70% RPM & 7 MAP) we got 25 km/hr more cruise  speed.  Aerobatically the vertical penetration is definitely noticeably improved too!!!  Your convex really makes a difference - engine  runs smoother with less vibration and less of that cyclic resonance that these Vedenyev M14P engines seem to suffer from particularly at 80% RPM.  Starts are almost immediate too.   All in all a marked and very satisfying improvement  - THANX VERY MUCH INDEED!!!"

  • Here is a quote from a CJ6 owner/pilot with the stock Housai engine after installing the automotive conversion kit: 

 "The CI is finished on my CJ and I got to fly it yesterday.  Before that all we did was test runs on the auto-plug conversion.  I have to say the engine runs smoother, can smoothly idle below 500 rpm (smooth even at 400) and at WOT, the engine runs over redline (by about 50 rpm) so it must be putting out a bit more power than with the Chinese plugs.   I have a very slight hint of ignition noise in the background but nothing that the squelch can't handle.  I am very pleased.  My wallet will be pleased each annual too.  The conversion will pay for itself in a few years."
